Commercial vs. Corporate Cleaning: What’s the Difference?
These terms are often used loosely in vendor conversations, and the confusion can lead to briefing the wrong scope. Here’s how to tell them apart before you brief a provider.
Commercial cleaning
A broad term covering any cleaning service for a business or public-facing premises — retail, F&B, warehouses, offices, and more. Scope and standards vary widely by industry.
Corporate cleaning
A narrower subset specific to office environments — typically involving desk-level detail, meeting room turnover, and standards suited to client-facing corporate spaces.
In practice, most Singapore office-based businesses are looking for corporate cleaning specifically — but many vendors advertise under the broader “commercial cleaning” label, so it’s worth confirming scope explicitly before signing a contract. Ask whether desk-level detail, meeting room reset, and pantry servicing are included by default or billed separately.
