Explain why the team is having this talk — a reminder, a policy update, or seasonal illness season starting.
2. Cover the essentials (4 min)
Walk through hand hygiene moments, respiratory etiquette, and where sanitiser stations are located. Reference the written policy so the team knows where to find it.
3. Reporting illness (2 min)
Clarify how and when to report illness, and reassure the team this is supported, not penalised.
4. Q&A (2 min)
Open the floor — this is often where facility-specific issues surface.
5. Close (1 min)
Point the team to signage and any printed materials for reference afterwards.
Follow up the talk with printable signage at the locations discussed, and consider running a refresher ahead of flu season each year.
